Genetic Regulation Mechanism of Anthocyanin Synthesis in Yunnan Red Radish (Raphanus sativus L.)
Published:07 Jun.2023 Source:Hortic Res
Radish red pigment is a natural anthocyanin widely used in industries such as food, medicine, and cosmetics manufacturing. Yunnan radish red pigment accounts for over 60% of the world market share. However, the degradation of germplasm caused by years of non-standard cultivation has seriously affected the yield and quality of Yunnan radish red pigment. In order to select high-quality production varieties, it is necessary to further understand the genetic and regulatory mechanisms that affect anthocyanin synthesis in Yunnan radish.
Horticulture Research has published a research paper titled "Construction of a high density genetic map based on specific local amplified fragment sequencing and identification of local controlling anthocyanin segmentation in Yunnan red radish", jointly completed by Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Yunnan Agricultural University. The study utilized F1, F2, BC1P1, and BC1P2 populations obtained from hybridization between white radish inbred line YAAS-WR1 and red radish inbred line YAAS-RR1 for genetic analysis.
This study has shown that RsMYB1.3 can interact with RsTT8 and activate the expression of RsTT8 and RsUFGT. These findings help elucidate the complex regulatory mechanism of anthocyanin synthesis in radish.
